Yahoo e-mail address?

when I draft an e-mail I use the first letter of the person's name and I get a whole list of my contacts whose names start with that letter. The other names do not disappear and I cannot access the 'subject' nor the message space. How do I get rid of these names. This never used to happen. Please help.
