Do Germans regret the Holocaust?

Oh yes, they are very ashamed of it. But what you are perhaps forgetting is that there were a lot of german jews, persecuted and sent to death by their own people! Also Hitler was austrian and he was an extremely powerful speaker, so much so that the non-jewish population of Germany began to believe the nasty lies he told about the jews, they were tricked into thinking that all of the starvation, money loss etc from the first world war was the jews' fault. This was of course nonsense. But as I said before, the rest of the population were over powered by his natural ability to speak so well to an audience. They are ashamed of being a part of that audience. So in short, they regret letting that vile man ruin the lives of so many.
